Jennifer Meyers joined M2 in 2018. She has always had a love for working with kids and understanding their developmental progress, so she discovered the perfect fit in pediatric anesthesiology. In particular, she relishes the opportunity to focus intently on one child at a time during the inherently stressful period around dental procedures, using all manner of playful tactics to put them at ease and help families cope.
She spent her youth in southern California and completed undergraduate studies at Scripps College, during which she met her now-husband. She attended medical school at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey Pennsylvania, after which even the wondrous daily aroma of melted chocolate could not keep her from moving closer to family.
After completing her Anesthesiology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, she elected to stay in the Texas Medical Center for a fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology. She solidified her interest in education and subsequently took an academic appointment at the University of Washington in 2007, teaching anesthesiology trainees at Seattle Children’s Hospital for eight years. She also served on the Pediatric Transplant Team, Airway Procedures Service Line, and as Associate Program Director for the Anesthesiology Residency Program. She is pleased to have found a niche working with UW Oral Surgery and Pediatric Dental Residents, continuing to teach safe anesthetic screening and practices to the new trainees while delivering superb office-based anesthetic care to children of all ages at the Center for Pediatric Dentistry.
In her off-hours, she spends time with her lovable labradoodle, Bingley, outdoors hiking or camping with her husband, and texting with her busy teen daughters. She also spends countless hours in the kitchen each month, filling her freezer with staples, baking sourdough bread, and trialing new recipes of her own design.
